Application Note: Leading Hot Dog Manufacturer Installs Six X-Ray Inspection Systems From Mettler-Toledo Safeline

ScrnShot

Dedicated to producing the highest quality products, a leading manufacturer of franks, sausages and deli meats uses no artificial coloring, by-products, artificial flavoring, or fillers. To assure customers receive only the highest quality products, the food processor recently installed six X-ray inspection systems from Mettler-Toledo Safeline on six packaging lines.

When the hot dog manufacturer built its plant back in 2004, they installed then-state-of-the-art processing and packaging equipment, including a metal detector on every packaging line. In 2007, they analysed everything from room conditions to each piece of equipment to identify areas that could be improved upon. They decided to tackle a problem that is common at most hot dog and suasage factories - bits of bone in the finished products - and took their quality assurance program to the next level with X-ray inspection systems, which detect bone and a wide range of other foriegn material as well as packaging irregularities.
