How To Maximize Microbrewery Production Lines
Microbreweries have been rising in popularity in the U.S. for many years now. In 2006, there were just 1,460 brewers nationwide. By 2021, that figure had reached 9,427, the vast majority of those being microbreweries. But not every new microbrewery is successful. While 2021 saw 550 microbrewers open their doors, about 200 others shuttered, the Brewers Association notes. One of the keys to success is being able to expand capacity in a way that is cost effective. This can be challenging, as brewers’ expertise is in brewing, not engineering. Determining if an existing pneumatic conveying line can handle more capacity often requires bringing in a consulting engineer or other experts, who may charge high fees for their service.
The alternative is to work with suppliers to gather their expertise on the subject. While most original equipment manufacturers rarely share advice beyond the scope and function of their products, some like Aerzen offer complimentary consulting services to their customers.
