In Part Three of FSMA Fridays: Foreign Supplier Verification Program, SafetyChain Software’s VP of Marketing, Jill Bender was joined by The Acheson Group’s (TAG) Senior Food Safety Manger, Christopher Snabes, addressed FSVP, including the education required for a Qualified Individual. Here, in part four, the duo handles questions from the webcast’s live audience.

Jill: This question reads, “We are a Canadian fresh produce exporter who import produce from Mexico to Canada, but repack and export to the USA. Are we required to use the DUNS number for shipment going to all our U.S. customers or as exporter only use our FDA registration number?”

Christopher: Will the food be consumed by anybody within the U.S.? So that's my follow up question. If it is not being consumed within the U.S., they can use the DUNS number to get it in, but I do not believe all the rules apply to them. I would have to additional follow up on that to give you some further details.
