SafetyChain Software’s VP of Marketing, Jill Bender is joined by The Acheson Group’s (TAG) Senior Food Safety Manger, Christopher Snabes, to discuss FSMA’s Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP), as well as the latest developments with the FDA—including a new commissioner and the assignments of FSMA inspectors.

Jill: Welcome everyone to FSMA Fridays. Today, we'll be discussing the Foreign Supplier Verification Program. We are delighted to have Christopher Snabes with the TAG team online with us today. I believe this might be your second FSMA Fridays, right Christopher?

Christopher: Yes. Thank you, Jill. Thank you, everyone, for joining us.

Jill: Yes, we are excited to have you with us, thank you. Before we get started, Christopher, why don't you share with us, what's the latest on the FSMA front?

Christopher: We have a new FDA commissioner, Scott Gottlieb, and he's working on assigning inspectors to their areas of expertise and their specialties. Not necessarily their geographical location. It's a new realignment of the inspectors and they're no longer going to follow the existing five district boundaries that the FDA has set.
