In part two of FSMA Fridays: Food Safety & Quality Operations Survey Results, SafetyChain Software’s VP of Marketing, Jill Bender was joined by The Acheson Group’s (TAG) founder and CEO Dr. David Acheson to discuss the results of a recent SafetyChain/TAG survey for food safety and quality operations professionals. Here, in part three, the duo continues the conversation.

Jill: David, I know you've really emphasized the narrative that you create when an inspector or auditor comes walking in relative to where they're from. We will have audit type questions later on, but thank you for that.

Let me go ahead and move us forward then with regards to taking a step further. How prepared are our responders in regards to managing GFSI programs? Similar to the FSMA follow up question, the folks that were not applicable, they were excluded from this question. The takeaway really is that percent of responders that, when you take away those ones that aren't certified, interestingly look at the key elements that are successfully managing and ensuring compliance with your GFSI team such as keeping programs updated or code requirements or verifying tasks are complete and accurate, managing audits and so forth. Only about a third or so indicated that that is under control for keeping that together. But then the larger percentage indicated challenging or somewhat challenging. Any thoughts on that, David?
