Case Study: French's® Mustard Cap, Label And Date Code Inspection

By Mettler-Toledo

Reckitt Benckiser employed a versatile CI-Vision system to inspect the front and back labels on its French’s mustard bottles — even when the bottles were not consistently oriented. This eliminated the need for additional equipment to orient bottles before entering the inspection area.

Previously, inspections had been performed manually by line inspectors. In spite of their experience and familiarity with the French’s packages, they could not be as accurate and untiring as a machine vision system. The new three-camera system accurately inspects for label presence and quality, cap presence and positioning as well as date code presence, correctness and readability at high line speeds without fatigue or loss of accuracy over time. The need for manual inspection was totally eliminated.
