Detect All Contaminants: X-Ray Inspection Of Coffee With RAYCON Bulk Sorting System

RAYCON BULK product sorting systems detect all contaminants that due to their density, chemical composition, or mechanical dimensions absorb X-radiation to greater degree than the surrounding product, for example, metal, glass, ceramics, and stone contaminants in food. RAYCON BULK will also detect some plastics (e.g. PVC, rubber).

Especially in coffee production processes there are some problems when using only common systems for detecting contaminants like stones:

• Colour sorting systems only detect stones that have a different colour than coffee
• Stone removing systems only can remove stones that have a different size or weight than coffee
• Stones with a weight, size, or colour similar to coffee beans will remain in the coffee and have an influence on the final weight and on quality!
