Wolverine Proctor & Schwartz Consolidates Manufacturing Operations

Wolverine Proctor & Schwartz, Inc., Jetzone Divisionacturer Wolverine Proctor & Schwartz will consolidate all large order manufacturing operations in its facility in Merrimac, MA. According to Deepak Kulkarni, Wolverine CEO, the move is a further step in meeting the goal of offering the shortest delivery times for customers in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical and other businesses worldwide.

The plant in Merrimac provides ready access to both ocean and ground transportation hubs, and features efficient manufacturing and operating systems. The company will continue to manufacture its proprietary dryer components such as conveyors, chains, fans and heaters and also replacement parts in its Lexington, NC facility.

"The matrices of manufacturing today demand innovative approaches to maintain excellence in equipment fabrication and assembly. The consolidation of all Wolverine Proctor large order assembly operations into one site will provide increased efficiencies, significant competitive advantages, and eventual cost savings," noted Kulkarni.

The May 1999, Wolverine Proctor & Schwartz became a single operating division of <%=company%> when Wolverine of Merrimac, MA and Proctor & Schwartz of Horsham, PA merged.

The company produces Jetzone fluid bed and Proctor conveyorized ovens, coolers, roasters, toasters and forming equipment for the food processing industry.
