John Beeze, Director of FCI Container Handling at Bevcorp, took some time out of his schedule at PACK EXPO 2014 to discuss some key issues in the beverage industry with Todd Schnick and Todd Youngblood. Beeze spoke about challenges facing the craft beer industry, including extending beverage shelf life with dissolved oxygen (DO) and the industry’s trend of implementing equipment to keep DO to a bare minimum. Beeze furthers the discussion with commentary on how regulations are impacting the beverage industry. Beeze mentions traceability guidelines, applying barcodes containers, and immediately sealing containers after fill as a few of the key policies within the craft beer industry. Finally, Beeze offers his opinions on the future of craft brewery containers, as well as expected advances in filling and packaging technology.
