Watson-Marlow Bredel Announces Milkshake Flavoring Pump

SD

Watson-Marlow Bredel, the leading manufacturer of peristaltic pumps, offers its easy-to-load 313D pumphead for food and beverage processing applications, including milkshake flavoring. The 313D offers flow ranges of .25 to 3000 ml/min and pressures up to 30 psi, and can utilize seven different tube sizes. With an accuracy rate of up to 99.5 percent, flavorings, colorings and additives are given true displacement with no siphoning.

The 313D pumphead features secure clamps that allow more clearance during loading and prevent tampering. To maintain the purity of the pumping product, the pumphead has no valves, is self-priming, and can run dry without incurring damage. The pumps can be cleaned in-line at full velocity without the intrusive bypass of most other positive displacement pumps. Dismantling and further cleaning are not required.

The pumphead loading process is comprised of three simple steps:

  1. sliding open the track to expose the rotor;
  2. placing the tubing over the rotor;
  3. sliding the track down. The tubing is "clamped and stretched" as the track clicks shut.
Clamping ensures the tubing is properly and consistently loaded. For multiple flow channels, 313D pumpheads can be stacked up to six deep. Pump tubing is offered in several FDA-approved materials, including Marprene and long-life Bioprene.

The pump's OEM-style, panel-mount gear motors and speed controls are available in AC, DC, or stepper versions. The 313D pumphead also comes with a choice of three or four rollers and fixed or variable tube clamps, and is available in a private label version.

Every Watson-Marlow Bredel peristaltic pump is an inherent metering pump with repeatability at 99.5 percent. Many models include integral digital drives and displays in washdown enclosures. These self-priming pumps accommodate flow rates from 0.1 microliter to 350 gpm, and are extremely durable, withstanding pressures up to 232 psi. There are no internal universal joints, valves, dead corners, or glands to impede flow, and these pumps are reversible for back flushing lines. They can also run dry indefinitely without damage and provide up to a 30-foot suction lift.
