Trophy Foods Launches A GFCP Certified Line Of Gluten-Free Nut, Dried Fruit And Confectionary Products

Trophy Foods Inc. further strengthens the already high level of food safety and quality controls in place at their production facilities by adding an exciting range of delicious gluten-free nut, dried fruit and confectionary products certified by the Gluten-Free Certification Program (GFCP).
Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) - The Gluten-Free Certification Program (GFCP) in partnership with the Canadian Celiac Association are proud to announce that Trophy Foods Inc. have recently become certified by the GFCP in Canada. This certification further strengthens the already high level of food safety and quality controls in place at the production facilities, alongside BRC, Kosher and Organic certification.
Gordon Hayburn, Director of Food Safety, confirms that “Trophy Foods are delighted to announce that both their Mississauga and Calgary manufacturing locations have achieved “Gluten Free” Certification against the Canadian Celiac Associations Gluten Free Certification Program (GFCP) rigorous standards.”
Trophy Foods selected GFCP as their certification standard it is the only “gluten-free” label which requires the manufacturing facilities to be inspected and have detailed food safety and quality systems in place. This has to be verified by an independent auditor.
As part of ongoing development, Trophy Foods will continue to launch a selection of products in the “gluten free” category. In addition, this certification will also provide significant opportunities for Trophy Foods’ private label customers to further expand their portfolio of gluten-free product.
Trophy Foods wants their customers to know that the Canadian Celiac Association requires the highest standard of control. According to Gordon Hayburn, “this is the only Gluten Free Program that has food safety at its core. It’s not simply a marketing exercise. Food safety and quality are core values of the Trophy brand. “
“The CCA advocates on behalf of the 2,300,000 of Canadians suffering from celiac disease and gluten sensitivity, who are often challenged by the uncertainty of identifying gluten-free products which are essential to their well-being,” says Paul Valder, president of the GFCP. “The participation of Trophy Foods Inc. in the GFCP program supports Canadians’ rights to safe food and delicious gluten-free snack food options.
About the Gluten-Free Certification Program
The Gluten-Free Certification Program (GFCP) was developed so consumers can shop with confidence by selecting those safe, reliable and gluten-free products displaying the GFCP trademark and is endorsed by the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness and the Canadian Celiac Association.
The GFCP is a voluntary certification program designed to help brand owners to differentiate their gluten-free products from the increasing clutter of gluten-free claims, by displaying the GFCP endorsed trademark. The GFCP is also based on a robust third-party audit certification process at the manufacturing facility, which verifies their ability to regularly meet the stringent GFCP requirements, when managing gluten as part of their food safety programs. http://www.glutenfreecert.com
