Applications

The new TranSlicer 2000 Cutter by Urschel Laboratories uniformly slices a wide variety of products at high production capacities with precision and is ideally suited for elongated products. Cucumbers, peppers, celery ,potatoes, carrots, and a wide variety of fruits are effectively cut on the machine. The TranSlicer 2000 accepts firm products up to 4" (101.6 mm) in diameter and leafy-type products up to 6" (152.4 mm) in diameter.

This machine can also be equiped with the new MicroSlice Wheel for slice thicknesses from .030 up to .120" (0.8 up to 3 mm).

Types of Cuts

Slices
The number and pitch of knives on the slicing wheel together with a matching feed belt speed determine the thickness of the slice. Many slicing wheels are available to produce a wide range of slice thicknesses. Feed belts run at a variety of available speeds depending upon the slicing wheel used.

Crinkle Slices
Many slicing wheels can be converted to crinkle slicing by replacing the straight knives with crinkle slicing knives. A different shear edge must also be used for crinkle slicing.

Julienne Dices
Many slicing wheels can be converted to julienne dicing by replacing the straight knives with julienne dicing knives.

Sizes of Cuts
Crinkle and flat slice thickness:

  • 1/32 to 2" (.8 to 51 mm)
