Suiza Foods Makes Executive Appointments

Effective today, G. Irwin Gordon, 47, will be president and COO of Suiza Foods Corp., reporting directly to Gregg L. Engles, Suiza's chairman and CEO. Mr. Gordon most recently served as president of Suiza's Morningstar Foods, Inc. subsidiary and executive vice president of Suiza Foods Corp.

"Gordon has 22 years of food industry experience in general management, marketing and sales with Kellogg and PepsiCo and is the right person to lead our efforts in the food industry," said Engles.

William L. Estes, 50, has assumed the new post of president and COO of the Suiza Packaging Group, also reporting directly to Mr. Engles. Mr. Estes joins Suiza from McKesson Corp. where he served as president and COO of its McKesson Carrollton Operations.

"Bill has an engineering and manufacturing background and spent 16 years in the consumer products industry with PepsiCo, Nabisco and Procter & Gamble. His experience, coupled with his knowledge of our consumer product customer base, makes Bill the ideal executive to build our packaging company into a significant industry force," said Engles.

Mr. Engles further stated: "The naming of these two strong executives will allow me to focus on strategic issues and the continued growth and development of Suiza Foods Corp. with the knowledge that an organization designed and staffed to manage a multi-billion dollar company is in place."

Suiza Foods is a Dallas-based company with leading positions in the dairy, consumer goods plastic packaging and packaged ice industries. Its principal holdings are in fluid dairy processing, refrigerated, shelf-stable and frozen food products, packaged ice and consumer goods plastic packaging.
