Sparta Foods Announces Management Changes

Sparta Foods, Inc., (St. Paul, MN) has announced senior management changes as follows.

Merill Ayers has been promoted to senior vice president, finance and administration. He remains CFO, treasurer and secretary. Thomas C. House, formerly vice president, operations, has been named vice president, corporate planning. Craig S. Cram has been appointed vice president, operations, succeeding House. All three senior executives report to Joel P. Bachul, Sparta Foods' president, CEO.

"In addition to his continuing role as Sparta Foods' CFO, Merrill Ayers has assumed responsibility for all adminstrative functions within the company," said Bachul. 'Tom House will now focus on acquisitions, joint ventures and developing strategic alliances, which are key components of our new strategic direction. Craig, Cram, a new addition to our senior team, brings to our organization many years of food manufacturing experience with divisions of Pillsbury and Michael Foods, inc."

Sparta Foods is a regional market leader in the production and distribution of tortillas and value-added tortilla products to the food service and retail food industries. The company's product line includes tortillas, tortilla chips, picante and other salsas.
