Food Processing Innovation

Big and troubling issues can have a new light shed upon them in when presented with the opportunity to get away from the office and engage your brain with like-minded colleagues

Across the food industry, the last four years have been a time of change and stress. Since being signed into law in January, 2011, the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) has dominated the industry, leaving most companies trying to ensure compliance. That has left little room for good-old-fashioned networking and brainstorming, or simply shaking hands with a colleague. You may want to consider attending the Food Leaders Summit, 2015.

Being held in Chicago on Monday, April 27 through Wednesday, April 29, 2015, you can attend numerous educational sessions. Speakers will present a wealth of forward-thinking information, while you have the opportunity to talk with those who also have a vested interest in food processing. There is something for everyone. You can register for offerings by Conference Tracks relevant to your interests. Choices include the Product Development, Business & Marketing or Emerging Technology Tracks.  If, in your business, you have an interest in all of these areas, you may want to consider sending a representative to attend sessions in all three tracks.

You can also view the Agenda At-A-Glance, providing a day-by-day and hour-by-hour schedule of events, topics, and speakers. The conference topics seek to answer the three most pressing questions facing food processors today.  This is not FSMA rehashed as the time for talking about FSMA is coming to an end. Instead, we are nearing its implementation. This conference gets past FSMA compliance and into what the future of food processing will hold. It will address the consumers’ expectations, supply-chain sustainability, along with how big data, emerging technology, and innovative thinking is impacting and will continue to impact the industry.

Day one of the conference will have workshops beginning at 1:00 p.m. Business will conclude on the first day with a reception at 4:00 p.m. Days two and three will be full of sessions, the entire agenda available here. Clicking on the title of a session will give you an overview of what will be discussed.

In addition to the formal sessions, this is the perfect venue in which to do some valuable networking. Though the food-processing community can be a small world, there is always the opportunity to get to know someone new. A chance introduction or chat in the elevator could provide a very-different perspective and/or insights into what’s trending in food safety.  The Exhibitor Showcase will give you the opportunity for eyes-on and hands-on interaction with the newest, technological solutions. As not to conflict with the sessions, the times the exhibitors will be available is also scheduled.
