Processing and Wastewater Projects Completed for Tri-Valley Growers
About six weeks ago and just in time for the peach season, processing and wastewater projects were completed at the Tri-Valley Growers' plant in Gridley, CA. Tri-Valley Growers is the nation's leading fruit and vegetable growers cooperative.
The projects consisted of redesign and installation design of a peach sizer-grader, installation of rebuilt lye peelers and support equipment, and design and installation of new sort table and peach slicers. The engineering and architectural firm of Mead & Hunt West, specializing in design/build and renovation of food and dairy facilities, provided mechanical, electrical and civil engineering design of the projects.
'Our goal was to help Tri-Valley Growers increase their processing capacity and improve quality of their canned peaches,' said Mead & Hunt Project Manager, John Fleming.
In continuing effort to remain compliant with the state of California's regional water quality regulations, Tri-Valley Growers directed Mead & Hunt to conduct a thorough evaluation of the plant's wastewater effluent discharge system. The study reviewed existing drawings and operations.
Recommendations were made for compliance issues and to provide adequate capacity to meet planned increases.
Headquartered in Madison, WI, Mead & Hunt provides a wide range of services in the areas of architecture and building engineering, transportation, aviation services, water resources and infrastructure.
