Preferred Machining Corp. Acquires Assets of PRC
Earlier this year, Preferred Machining Corporation acquired the assets of PRC, a company specializing in the manufacture of precision high-speed food processing equipment. Preferred has served the precision equipment industry with such equipment as container, aerospace and production line accessories for over 25 years. The acquisition of PRC has allowed them to enter the food processing equipment business. During the recent Worldwide Food Expo, Preferred displayed their new 60 lb. Portioner, the 3D forming VersaForm and the PS 130 Pump/Stuffer.
The 60-lb. Portioner offers double the capacity of other equipment and can produce up to 60-lb net-weight chubs or loaves of deli products at a rate of 10 chubs/min. Typical applications include the portioning of ham, beef, chicken and turkey products.
The 3D product forming capability for poultry and other products enhances the functionality of the VersaForm system for the meat and poultry industry. A simple changeover of forming stations and control cams takes minimal time to produce new sizes and shape of nuggets, patties, and other products, all on the same machine. A newly designed wire cut-off system for VersaForm units separates finished products cleanly.
The PS-130 Pump/Stuffer is a pressure-sensitive pump that features a capacity of 13,000 lb/h. Two 11.25-in. pistons operate to gently handle such challenging pumpable products as muscle meats, cooked poultry, cheese, raw tuna and even delicate leafy products like spinach. The pump/stuffers can be used to perform either processing function separately, or both at the same time.
