Poultry Division of Continental Grain Selects Marcam's ERP Software

Marcam Solutions, Inc. has announced that the Wayne Poultry Division of Continental Grain Company has selected its Protean software.

Protean is Marcam's open, client/server solution designed for process companies. The software can handle unique variables, manage everything that goes into and comes out of production, establish unique formulas, recipes, and routings, control and document the quality cycle from testing through disposition, all with real-time views for instantaneous decision-making.

Protean's robust architecture allows users to change or customize their applications according to their evolving requirements without rewriting code. The software also provides advanced functionality and agility for managing customer orders, logistics, production, financials and maintenance. Protean's technology links users to legacy systems, word processing, spreadsheets and financial solutions from PeopleSoft and SAP. Meeting the requirements for both the Year 2000 and EURO, Protean offers enterprise-spanning functionality via Marcam's Enterprise Manager application. The software works with leading platforms and operating systems, including HP-9000, RS/6000, DEC Alpha and Windows NT.

Marcam's other food company customers include Nestle, J.R. Simplot, and Edwards Baking.
