Paterson GlobalFoods To Build $94M Oats Processing Mill In Manitoba

Paterson GlobalFoods will build a $94M oats processing mill next to its existing grain terminal, northwest of Winnipeg in Rosser, Manitoba, Canada. The company plans to add 70 associates.

The international agricultural conglomerate reported the O Foods Mill will process up to 250,000 tons of raw oats from western Canadian farmers each year. The mill will have 260 rail cars at its disposal to offer the greatest access possible to North American markets.

Premier Brian Pallister said tax incentives offered by the Province of Manitoba helped the mill become a reality, adding an investment in agriculture is good for the province and its farmers.

CEO Andrew Paterson said the new oats plant will allow the company to continue to build its commodity business with value-added products for consumers and farmers.
