Next Generation Flex Flow Accumulator Solves For Increased Manufacturing Efficiencies

Nercon announces its next generation Flex Flow in order to provide accumulation essentials to the efficiency of food and consumer goods manufacturing lines.

Oshkosh, WI. (PRWEB)  Nercon Eng. & Mfg., Inc. announces the next generation of the Flex Flow Accumulator. This equipment provides accumulation essential to the efficiencies of food and consumer goods manufacturing lines.

The Flex Flow Accumulator operates on the concept of an expandable travel path which automatically changes length to match fluctuations in production. Reducing downtime of the generating unit, the Flex Flow increases overall production efficiency and operating profits. The in-line accumulation delivers a more consistent product flow to downstream equipment which in turn increases the operational reliability of these production line machines.

In the new design, the Flex Flow Accumulator offers an upgraded side transfer feature. The side transfer, which is at the in-feed and at the discharge, has been redesigned to aid in reducing maintenance time including improved chain take-up that increases life of the chain.

Now a more modular design, the system allows for multiple in-feed and discharge locations. The in-feed and discharge feature allow for chain type flexibility and provide extreme product travel stability. The design change also maximizes the overall footprint and increases accumulation time.

This In-line accumulation method delivers a constant product flow to downstream equipment and is best used for short down-times associated with expected line stoppages such as replenishing labels. The accumulation time for product is usually between two to three minutes depending on product size and shape with the overall length of the flex flow being 36’-8” and 143’-6” of accumulation.

The Flex Flow Accumulator is also best utilized to accumulate odd product shapes that require gentle handling and low back pressure. At all corners of the accumulator, the product is driven around the radius, preventing locking or wedging. Product is carried on one continuous crescent style chain, ensuring the production line backpressure is non-existent, which prevents product damage. It is also used by manufacturers needing exact FIFO (First-In, First-Out) sequence for lot tracking.

Nercon is a well-known designer, line integrator and manufacturer of packaging and process conveyors and material handling equipment.
