Nabisco to Close Urbana Plant

Nabisco, Inc. has decided to close its Urbana, OH, plant by mid-year. The plant which produces Cornnuts snack products will be shifted to the Nabisco facility in Fresno, CA, which also produces Cornnuts. The closure of the plant is part of a broad company-wide restructuring program designed to improve asset utilization and stem earnings declines in domestic and international operations.

Nabisco is an international manufacturer of biscuits and snacks, including such well-known brands as Oreo, SnackWell's, Ritz crackers and Planters nuts and snacks.
