Nabisco Acquires Candy Company

Nabisco, Inc. (Parsippany, NJ) has signed an agreement to acquire Favorite Brands International, Inc. for $475 million. The company will be integrated with Nabisco's LifeSavers confections business, part of Nabisco Foods Company.

Favorite Brands in the fourth largest non-chocolate candy company in the U.S. with brands including Jet Puffed brand marshmallows, Trolli brand gummi candies, Sathers and Farley's.

Nabisco manufactures biscuits and snacks with brands including Oreo, SnackWell's, Ritz crackers, and Planters nuts and snacks.
