Multivac Launches New Thermoform Machine Generation At 2007 Worldwide Food Expo

Kansas City, MO - Multivac recently kicks off the official worldwide market launch for an entirely new thermoform machine generation. The new form-fill-seal systems debuting recently at the Worldwide Food Expo (WWFE)significantly raise the bar in the packaging machinery industry, once again setting a new standard in hygiene and process security. The machines offer a completely new basic
design which simplifies and accelerates the cleaning
process for food processors, while adding a host of other
features for enhanced performance, ergonomics and
efficiency.
The first model of the new line, the high performance R 535, will be available as of the new year, with successive models rolling out in the following months. The R 535 will be demonstrated live in the Multivac booth, # N1602, October 24-27, 2007, McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois.
Clean-in-Place technology
The R535 on display at WWFE will feature a new fully developed concept in the packaging machine industry, which is being offered for the first time exclusively by Multivac. The machine is equipped with an integrated Clean-in-Place (CIP) system, which automates the cleaning of component groups inside the machine. After a pre-cleaning, a cleaning program can be started at the push of a button, which can be controlled from the central control system. The standardized, logged process ensures adherence to predetermined cleaning cycles, and dosages/mixtures of sanitizing chemicals. In this way the internal component groups are cleaned automatically by an extensive system of jets and pipes. Exterior cleaning is executed manually with an attached spray gun, and is also integrated into the CIP procedure for process control.
While CIP and hygiene in general represent a pivotal aspect of the R 535, the new machine generation also sets new standards with regard to performance and economy. "In respect to the tool sizes and number of packages per minute, the R535 is the clear market leader in its category," says Jan Erik Kuhlmann, President and CEO of Multivac, Inc. "This powerhouse machine not only blows the competition away in terms of sanitary design, but it is also the fastest and most reliable horizontal thermoformer on the market. We're thrilled to make our formal North American introduction here in Chicago at the Worldwide Food Expo."
All new Multivac equipment also comes standard with IPC control systems for seamless integration with upstream and downstream packaging line components. In addition to the R 535 introduction in booth # N1602, Multivac will showcase an array of products including traysealers, vacuum chamber systems and other technologies from partner organizations. A second Multivac exhibit in booth # S3709 will focus on the company's comprehensive product offerings in the compact packaging systems and consumables categories.
