Version 3.1 of APImate motion control software, which is used for program development, set-up and optimization of the company's intelligent, programmable servo drives, contains over 100 new features and enhancements, including pre-computed macros for the most used motion control functions and user-definable expressions called links. Macros can execute up to 100 times faster than traditional macros as used in the previous version, enabling faster, more accurate machine operations. Links are continuously evaluated and updated as a background task, so the program statements that use them can execute faster.
Other new features include electronic gearing, lineshafting and camming to enable the simplification of machine mechanics; electronic registration for on-the-fly position phasing adjustment to a mark; modulo position to simplify programming of repetitive operations; and programmable limit switch functionality to simplify synchronizing auxiliary devices with motion.
