Model 5220B-Endevco Debuts Top Exit Industrial Accelerometer For Heavy Equipment, Power Turbine, Food Processing, Pump And Plant Machinery Monitoring Applications

San Juan Capistrano, CA – Endevco Corporation (Endevco), a Meggitt Group company, has announced the launch of new Model 5220B Isotron, a low-cost, top exit piezoelectric (IEPE-type) accelerometer with integral electronics, designed for continuous vibration monitoring in rugged industrial environments.

The 100 mV/g Model 5220B incorporates a piezoelectric transducer and an integral, internal hybrid impedance converter. Sensors feature an industry standard two-pin top connector, with sensor housings constructed of corrosion resistant 316L stainless steel, and sensing elements secured within an insulated, double-shielded, hermetically sealed case. This design helps to ensure long term, stable operation.

Model 5220B offers a very wide dynamic range, up to 80 g peak acceleration, with low noise floor. The unit transmits its low impedance voltage output through the same pin or twisted pair cable that supplies required constant current power, which is compatible with most industrial monitors and portable data collectors. This cable arrangement provides excellent resistance to electromagnetic noise pick-up. Units are also ground-isolated from the mounting surface and outer case, to prevent ground loop interference. The sensor is also compliant to API670, the American Petroleum Institute's globally accepted definition of industry best practice for turbomachinery protection.

With its rugged construction, Model 5220B is ideal for use within demanding industrial environments, such as heavy equipment, power turbines/turbomachinery, food processing, pumps, and manufacturing/plant machinery. For more information, visit www.endevco.com.
