In an interview at PACK EXPO, Jeff Almond, Snack Food Industry Manager for Heat and Control — a manufacturer of  food processing, seasoning, conveying, packaging, and inspection-equipment systems — spoke with Todd Schnick and Todd Youngblood about what plant managers should keep in mind when selecting equipment. Almond emphasized that most plant managers in the snack-food industry face many constraints, including budget limitations and confined floor spaces, when researching and implementing new equipment and offers advice on how to make the best choice to address specific needs. Finally, Almond gives advice to food a manufacturer regarding software and data collection tools to comply with FSMA as implementation of the new set of U.S. food-safety rules nears.
