Our Territory: Beginning with downtown Houston, Jake's, Inc. has expanded to cover most of the state of Texas. The internet has further expanded our customer base to include customers worldwide from all avenues of business.
Our Customers: While our primary customer base includes independent and chain restaurants; traditional deli; deli/bakery; correctional facilities, contract management dining, business and industry dining; catering, supermarket home-meal-replacement (HMR); summer camps, schools, day care, industrial, and festival feeding, the internet has further expanded our customer base to include customers worldwide from all avenues of business.
Our Product Lines: Over 7,000 items to include: dry groceries; frozen and refrigerated foods; fresh and frozen meats and produce, poultry, and seafood, dairy products including fluid milk, beverages, paper and plastic disposables, cleaning chemicals and janitorial products and service programs; smallwares supplies and equipment; heavy equipment, and restaurant design.
Our Sales and Partnering Efforts: Are supported by 270 years of sales and account management expertise, value added inside sales and customer service management; an entire employee organization devoted to the delight of our customers.
Our Purchasing Cooperative: UniPro Foodservice, Inc., Atlanta, Georgia. Total Annual distributor revenues of over $22 billion.

Jake's Departmental Development
Operations
- Completed our fifth major expansion in 20 years, bringing our total facility capacity to 80,000 square feet and over 1.1 million cubic feet of refrigerated and frozen capacity.
- Our fleet is represented by 23 trucks, 16 tractors with trailers and 7 trucks with 20 foot refrigerated bodies.
- In the fall of 1999 Jake's installed the Phoenix Warehouse System from IDS.
- Complete tracking of all inventory by each slot with the item and quantity in each slot.
- Tracks the receiving and expiration dates of each product by slot.
- Systems notification for replenishment and proper rotation for product freshness.
- Planned Item Retrieval (PIR) systems used for rotation freshness and slow-moving space maximization allowing greater product variety.
- Entire warehouse is prepared for Radio Frequency Warehousing (RF) receiving, put away, and pulling.
- Jake's has ample real estate to nearly double our capacity at our present location. Plans for the next decade include moving locations and building a new facility.
Merchandising
- Service levels to our valued customers are at an all time high in 2000
- Effective programs further developed to include winning strategies for both Jake's and our customers
- A tighter bond is developed between sales, marketing, and merchandising to ensure complete service to our valued customers
Sales/Account Management
- The Jake's Account Management Team is comprised of 20 dedicated professionals with a combined total of 270 years of foodservice experience.
- The 4 member management team has a combined 90 years in foodservice experience. These professionals not only know foodservice distribution, but also all facets of restaurant operations.
