Intralox Series 1100 Flush Grid Friction Top belt
Intralox has introduced a new small pitch friction top belt developed for use in weighing systems, metal detection, shrink tunnels and general packaging applications. The new Series 1100 Flush Grid Friction Top belt provides conveyor operators the advantages of a high friction rubber top with the benefits of an Intralox small-pitch, modular plastic belt.
The new S1100 Flush Grid Friction Top Belt is "two-material" – consisting of a standard, modular plastic module with rubber chemically bonded to the surface (not merely inserted). This method of manufacturing insures that the two materials are permanently bonded, not glued together, and will not delaminate or become unfastened as can occur with other manufacturing processes. The flush edge, rubber modules provide maximum, uninterrupted rubber coverage across the width of the belt.
The small pitch (0.6 inch, 15.2 mm) of this new belt reduces chordal action, which along with its light weight, results in smooth overall product conveyance. The familiar positive sprocket drive and tracking of the Intralox system eliminates belt stretch and slippage, and contributes to overall product handling. The combination of rubber grip and small pitch make this an outstanding belt for maintaining product orientation and stability.
The new Series 1100 Flush Grid Friction Top Belt is manufactured in polypropylene material with a choice of two rubber compounds. The grey rubber, which is used with the grey polypropylene belts, has excellent wear characteristics. And the white rubber, used with the white polypropylene belts, has a stronger product grip and is FDA compliant.
