Intellution's recently released version 7.0 of its FIX automation software features OPC Server capability, SQL Server support and support for the latest versions of Microsoft's Windows 98 and NT operating systems.

The new OPC Server capability gives customers full advantage of Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) for Process Control (OPC). As an OPC Server and Client, FIX 7.0 allows customers to easily integrate a wide variety of compliant applications by using the OPC interface. This standard interface eliminates the traditional costs and time associated with creating and maintaining custom interfaces.

FIX 7.0 includes other performance benefits such as enhanced redundancy, security and historical functionality, which will enable FIX users to collect and distribute more data faster, with increased reliability.

FIX automation software is a complete HMI/SCADA solution for the Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT operating systems. FIX 7.0 is a solution designed for customers who need process visualization, data collection and control, distributed client/server architecture, an intuitive interface, real-time process monitoring, SQL/ODBC relational database reporting and numerous other unique features.

Additional FIX 7.0 features include:

  • Support for Windows NT Service Pack 4 and Windows 98, which are fully Year 2000 compliant.
  • Enhancements to the FIX Historical Package. FIX 7.0 features increased collection capabilities, enabling users to configure up to 255 historical collection groups and more than 20,000 tags.
  • Synchronized redundancy. Users can synchronize alarms between partner nodes used in Intellution's Auto Failover Redundancy scheme.
  • Windows NT security integration. Users can specify operators' Windows NT user names as their FIX login names and password. This feature allows for simpler security configuration and maintenance. In addition, FIX users can use case-sensitive passwords, passwords that expire and online password changes.
