Food safety, quality standards, and certifications usually require a quality control system to ensure the packaged goods are contamination free. The manufacturer had a lot of experience in these systems since its old line had both metal detectors and X-Ray inspection systems to secure its products.
Metal detectors offer a fairly simple and a lower cost product inspection solution, but it relies on magnetic field inspection technology, which limits its contaminant detection to only metals.
