Hartness To Demonstrate Expanded Capabilities For Food & Beverage Industries At Pack Expo

Introducing New High Speed Accumulation and Wraparound Systems

Hartness’ Pack Expo booth has become a destination for those seeking innovative technology and an interactive trade show experience. This year will be no exception as Hartness will highlight its expanded portfolio for both Food and Beverage. The company will launch a new generation of its DYNAC accumulation systems, the CG2, with a circular design that offers higher speeds and more precise product handling. The booth will also be the North American launch of a modular wraparound case packing technology and highlight Hartness’ line design and integration capabilities.

“The booth will highlight Hartness Systems Group’s ability to improve packaging line efficiency through the utilization of DYNAC buffering technology, simplified line controls philosophy and the use of reliable robotic solutions for virtually any market segment,” says Anne Elmerick, Hartness’ Marketing Manager. However, as Elmerick explains, much of the booth will focus on the company’s expanded capabilities for the Food industry. In addition to viewing a fully operational application cell, attendees will be able tointeract with the latest ‘retail ready’ packages from Europe formed on a Hartness HTW Wraparound Case Packer.

“The centerpiece of the Hartness booth will be the ‘Are You Ready’ experiential area featuring a functioning carton line. The carton line will highlight Hartness’ ability to offer a fully-integrated back end solution for the food industry, complete with Hartness ‘retail-ready’ and wraparound case packing equipment, a relatively new addition to our product portfolio.” says Jim Soenke, Vice President of Global Sales. Cartons will be conveyed through the latest DYNAC buffering and accumulation technology designed for wide side leading carton based applications. After exiting the DYNAC, cartons will be elevated and lowerated by Ryson spirals. They will then enter a ‘retail ready’ capable HTW wraparound

case packer, where they will be wrapped in ‘shelf ready’ cases. Cases will then be placed on pallets using a Fanuc-powered robotic palletizer developed by Hartness’ Automation team.

The robot will also load cases onto a special grocery shelf, allowing attendees with specific interest in ‘retail’ or ‘shelf’ ready packaging, to open and ‘stock’ retail ready packages, right off the packaging line.
