Gilroy Foods acquires Basic Vegetable Products
Gilroy Foods, a division of ConAgra Foods, Inc., has acquired Basic Vegetable Products, L.P. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Basic Vegetable Products, headquartered in Walnut Creek, produces vegetable ingredients and developed the original commercial dehydration process for onions and garlic. The company now provides a variety of dehydrated and fresh ingredients to food companies and distributors worldwide.
The purchase of Basic Vegetable Products by Gilroy Foods, headquartered in Gilroy, CA, includes two California manufacturing facilities in King City and Modesto and Basic Vegetable's agricultural technology facility in Hanford, CA.
"Acquiring Basic Vegetable Products places Gilroy Foods in an important position in the world dehydrated vegetable business," said Randall Stuewe, president of Gilroy Foods. "Basic's line of fresh and dehydrated vegetable products diversifies our product line, positioning Gilroy Foods as a complete supplier of vegetable-based ingredients to a growing global marketplace," added Stuewe.
