General Mills Purchases Farmhouse Foods Company

General Mills and Farmhouse Foods Company of Union City, CA, signed an agreement for General Mills to buy the West Coast marketer of rice and pasta side-dish mixes.

Farmhouse Food Products are currently available in western states comprising 20% of the U.S. market, holding the number two position in this region.

General Mills said that Farmhouse represents an excellent fit with its existing side dish business because the company's rice and pasta offerings complement General Mills' Betty Crocker potato and Suddenly Salad product lines.
