FSMA Fridays: Sanitary Transportation Rule (Part One Of Four)
SafetyChain Software’s VP of sale, Dave Detweiler, is joined by The Acheson Group’s (TAG) Founder and CEO Dr. David Acheson to share insight on FSMA's Sanitary Transportation Rule including waivers and what companies should be doing if they are not ready for the rule.
Dave: Hi everybody, this is Dave Detweiler from Safety Chain and thanks for joining us here on another FSMA Friday, Thanks for joining us. We're going to get started here and walk through our presentation with Dr. David Acheson. So, without further ado we're going to start walking through some pre-submitted questions that we have on today's topic. We'll obviously go through the audience Q&A as well. We are happy to have Dr. Acheson with us here today to walk through our FSMA Friday.
Dr. Acheson: Happy Friday to everybody. I look forward to the conversation around sanitary transport.
Dave: Perfect. So let's get started. Are there any general FSMA updates or anything that's new at the FDA that we should be aware of before we get into the sanitary transport rule?
Dr. Acheson: There are a couple of things that that are worth mentioning. One of the things that just popped up I think in the last couple days is, “Where is menu labeling going?” I want to just take a second on that one because it's not exactly FSMA, but it's closely related, and we kind of speculated that where's the Trump administration going to go in relation to rolling back food related regulations.
