In part one of FSMA Fridays: Environmental Controls, SafetyChain’s Jill Bender and The Acheson Group’s Dr. Peyman Fatemi discussed the latest developments with the FDA’s Food Safety Modernization. Act. Here, in part two, Gurjit Shergill joins Bender and Dr. Fatemi to discuss environmental controls under FSMA.
Jill: I know in the past, The Acheson Group has been supplying links to the FDA guidances so our audience can quickly grab them. Do you know if that will be the case with some of the ones you just went through?
Peyman: Yeah, of course. In fact, I think our newsletter, the last one we sent out was about the VQIP program guidance that just came out, but the link to the actual guidance will be on our website as well, as you said.
Jill: Okay, great. Let's go ahead and get going then on our topic for today. This is in regards to environmental controls and control programs. It's a topic that has been requested in the last few months. Really look forward to, at least at a high level, reviewing a few things and talking about a few things today around environmental controls. I'm going to go ahead and ask, Gurjit, if you wouldn't mind sharing with us just overall the importance of an environmental control program.
