French Fry Vending Machine Debuts at Food Show in Germany
Tasty Fries, Inc is hoping to commercialize its French fry vending machine, which prepares, cooks and dispenses French fries in approximately ninety seconds with the flavor, aroma and texture of freshly cut French fries.
The company introduced its machine to the international market earlier this month at ANUGA, a food and beverage trade show in Cologne, Germany. ANUGA is a six-day event that is held biannually and hosts the top international management from the food and beverage industry. Approximately 400,000 attendees visited the 1997 show.
Tasty Fries are made from Idaho russet potatoes and cooked in cholesterol-free oil using a state-of-the-art robotic technology. A typical four-ounce serving is 200 calories.
The vending machine can hold 500 vends or servings, which means fewer trips to refill the machine. The brand has a shelf life of 18 months. The machine goes into an automatic sanitization cycle after every 25 vends or one hour of non-use, whichever comes first, and is programmed to remain in a sanitized resting state until used again.
The machines are expected to be located in high-traffic locations such as airports, universities, schools, bus and train stations, military bases, theaters, work areas and recreational venues.
