Foster Farms Opens First Northwest Poultry Plant

Foster Farms has announced the completion of its new Kelso-Longview, Washington, poultry processing plant.

The 110,000 sqft facility, which began operations May 4, is the first Foster Farms plant to be built in the Pacific Northwest. Foster Farms markets products under the Foster Farms, Fircrest Farms and Lynden Farms brand names in this region.

The opening of the new $26.5 million facility will create more than 500 new jobs in the Kelso-Longview area.

When operating at full capacity, the facility will process 120,000 chickens per day. The plant will also allow Foster Farms to consolidate and update its Northwest operations so it can operate more efficiently, be closer to its growers in Southwest Washington, and meet the increasing demand for fresh Washington and Oregon grown chickens.

Foster Farms is the largest poultry producer in the Western United States, producing and delivering more than 400 million pounds of fresh chicken and turkey each year.
