Foodchain ID Offers Organic Certification Services

Fairfield, Iowa (PRWEB) Foodchain ID, one of the world’s leading food safety, testing and verification organizations, expands its portfolio with the addition of organic certifications for U.S. companies in response to the industry’s growing need for integrated solutions.

Widely recognized for its Non-GMO verification services, many of FoodChain ID’s clients have requested stacked organic inspections to consolidate their certifications with fewer points of contact, saving both time and money. With almost half of FoodChain ID’s non-GMO clients simultaneously certifying organic, the need is substantial.

In fact, according to the Organic Trade Association's (OTA's) 2018 Organic Industry Survey, sales of organic food and non-food products rose to $49.4 billion in U.S. sales in 2017 with a growth rate of 6.4 percent.

“We’re excited to add more integrated solutions to our portfolio of services,” says David Carter general manager, FoodChain ID. “Growing consumer and regulatory pressure to clearly identify what is, and isn’t, in the foods we eat has many of our clients rapidly seeking providers that can streamline certification and verification services in a way that reduces overhead and speeds their time to market.”

FoodChain ID, formerly known as Global ID Group, has 20+ years offering specialized services for the food, beverage, ingredient and food component (i.e. grain) industries, spanning the entire food supply chain.

The first technical administrator for the Non-GMO Project’s Product Verification Program, it recently acquired Bioagricert, a global company that was among the first to market in the certification of organic foods. With more than 33 years of expertise in the organic sector, Bioagricert is one of the top, global, NOP-certifying bodies, having certified over 900 operations.

“As an organic certification pioneer, Bioagricert’s expertise in organic certification, combined with FoodChain ID’s Non-GMO verification expertise and SupplyTrak mapping and label verification system, further strengthens FoodChain ID’s leadership position in providing independent, third-party labeling claims,” says Carter.

FoodChain ID’s services offer clients, up and down the food supply chain, higher levels of transparency, safety and sustainability.
