According to the supplier, the technology used enables the laser to create indelible, crisp dot matrix codes without burning or puncturing flow wrap materials. It operates without moving parts, fluids or solvents, and is said to provide high production uptime with low maintenance. In addition, it keeps the production line free of ink and other solvents that may taint product flavors.
The laser coder is designed to integrate easily into existing lines. It is fully programmable, with product marking rates of up to 3,000 characters/sec. A digital interface enables users to change the code message, character height or style, and eliminates the need for stamps and stencils.
