Flow Switch
The all-plastic, corrosion-resistant flow switch installs into a pipe system with a T-fitting or pipe saddle and constantly monitors pipeline flow. When the system flow rate drops below 0.5 ft/sec, the switch turns the pump motor off, protecting the pump from deadheading or running dry. The flow switch can also be used to control other electrical pipeline system components, or as an early warning of low flow in the system. A visual or audible signaling device can be connected to the switch and, when the flow in the pipeline falls below 0.5 ft/sec, a warning light or audible alarm will be activated.
The flow switch features a five-blade rotor made of Halar plastic with an encapsulated micro-magnet to reduce fouling. The rotor shaft and bearings are made of a ceramic material and will never stick, jam or fail because of rust or corrosion. A single, built-in LED gives a local, visual indication of the flow in the system.
Available with PVC, PPL or PVDF body construction, the flow switch includes Viton® seals, and will accommodate any power supply voltage from 1224 VDC.
