IFM Efector, Inc.er optic sensor system is suited to applications prone to mechanical damage or those with limited mounting space. The glass fibers are fitted with a 316 stainless steel jacket that can withstand mechanical damage and temperature extremes up to 600 degrees F. With their robust construction, the fibers hold up mechanically in harsh operating conditions. These fibers have longer sensing ranges than most traditional fibers. The through-beam fibers have a sensing range of one meter and the diffuse fibers sense a target as far as 150 mm.

The compact amplifier housing can be positioned away from an application. The amplifier incorporates a pushbutton and LED display that makes the amplifier easy to program. The sensor evaluates actual operating conditions and automatically adjusts itself to provide maximum protection against false signals. These designed-in features are packaged in an easy-to-install housing that will snap onto a DIN rail or mount to any flat surface.

Two amplifier models are available: advanced and basic. The advanced OB amplifier includes programming features for a wide variety of applications. The LED display provides complete operational status at a glance and indicates power on, output state, excess gain, and offers a pulse stretcher for high-speed applications.

The basic OB model is designed as a more economical alternative. This amplifier has a simplified design that incorporates the pushbutton adjustment and marginal signal LED.

The OBF amplifiers are DC models, programmable light-on or dark-on.
