Packaging is an emerging science that has become a great contributor to the success of the food industry. It plays an important role to primarily protect the food product against physical, chemical and mechanical damage as well as contamination. Packaging has also become the core sector for marketing and the means by which manufacturers can differentiate their products from those of their competitors.
