Double-Drum Screen

The new heavy weight design of Lyco Manufacturing's double drum screen provides a broader range of service to food manufacturing operations. The screen can manage the heavy starch and fat waste solids found in the potato and meat industries.

All double drum screens provide twice the screening in the same footprint as a single drum screen, regardless of starch, fat, or cheese content in the wastewater. This eliminates the need for two single-stage screens in series and provides dramatic savings in installation costs.

Constructed of helical wound wedgewire, each screen minimizes binding and provides a drain-free, self-cleaning action. The inner drum, with a standard screen opening of .060", efficiently removes heavy solids first and gently augers them forward as they are dewatered before discharge. With the larger course solids removed, the .020" outer screen removes the remaining finer particles more effectively, resulting in a superior reduction of the BOD loading in wastewater. An even finer outer screen opening is available if necessary.

Standard equipment includes stainless steel covers over the top and side to reduce splashing, a belly pan to collect screened effluent water, and a discharge flange to connect to the customer's piping system.
