Disintegrator Plant Implementation Helps Bakery Company Reduce Waste And Save Millions

Bread Bases

A bread product manufacturer with a quality control system rejected any product that didn't meet specifications in terms of diameter, shape, thickness, or color was producing huge amounts of waste due to quality control issues. Rejects were automatically directed off the production line into waste, resulting in 2 tons of waste per day.

To try and reduce the amount of waste produced, the idea of reprocessing the rejected material to form a percentage of the ingredients for new products was discussed. When reducing the biscuits waste down into a slurry, 10 – 15% of the formulation of each batch could be made up of the reclaimed material. This would result in less waste and help to produce a higher quality product.

By investing in a disintegrator plant they were able to revolutionize their business and save them huge amounts of money.
