Digital Bar Code Label Printer
The CIMJET 331 system is designed to apply labels as small as 1in.2 to the top or side of a product using an air box applicator. The system employs a diffuser to de-sensitize the label application from either variations in air supply pressure or the distribution of the air blast over the surface of the label. The printer/applicator is less sensitive to air pressure changes that affect labeling accuracy. This design feature is fundamental to ease of set-up, consistent operation, and to the non-contact labeling needs of high-speed environments.
The air jet applicator, combined with a print engine capable of print speeds up to 15 ips, allows the printer/applicator to reach throughputs of up to 150 labels per minute, depending on label size and complexity. The printer first prints the bar code label then applies the label to a box, carton, or a variety of other surfaces. The industrial-grade design systems features metal housing and machined, durable parts. Multiple self-diagnostic features fast troubleshooting and repair to minimize product line downtime.
The systems are completely integrated, compact units. This design results in enhanced reliability and uptime compared to low-duty-cycle, benchtop printers integrated to label applicator equipment. This supports a wide range of label sizes and shapes, from price stickers to shipping labels. All of the applicator systems print and apply on-demand in real time. There are no wasteful loops of printed labels, which can result in incorrectly labeled products.
The systems feature a control panel that provides clear operator instructions, on-line error messages, and diagnostic functions without the need for a local PC. The printhead and driver roller mechanism provides a simple threading path for easy consumable changeover. Fully integrated print-apply-scan-verify capability is provided through a plug-in bar code scanner for maximum labeling security. With its foil-saving option, small areas of print can be placed on large, pre-printed labels without wasting printing ribbon. Labels also can be printed and applied on-demand with print coverage of the label by using the label back feed facility.
