All Beverages, All Parameters: Cobrix 5 Beverage Analyzer

Anton Paar launches a new inline beverage analyzer for continuous monitoring of soft drinks, beers and other beverages during production.

The new inline Cobrix 5 beverage analyzer measures °Brix, % Diet, carbon dioxide, alcohol, sugar inversion, original extract and additional parameters inline, directly in the production line with a single analysis system. The inline version of Cobrix 5 is therefore suitable for the hygienic production of all beer types, wine, juices, FABs (alcopops) and soft drinks, including soft drinks with sugar inversion. It is constructed according to EHEDG guidelines and is cleaned by standard CIP routines. Cobrix 5 is also available installed in a bypass, which is recommended for monitoring diet beverages.

Continuous measurement of product parameters with Cobrix 5 ensures the product quality is always right on target. If the measured values are outside preselected quality limits this immediately activates alarms. The result: less out-of-spec product and significant savings in syrup and CO2. For optimal monitoring of production, the sensor can be installed exactly where it is needed and the evaluation unit positioned up to 250 meters away in an easily visible location.

The Cobrix 5 beverage analyzer requires minimum supervision and maintenance and has low running costs, therefore contributing to the efficient and economical operation of the production plant. Using a cut-off adapter with the CO2 sensor means this sensor can be serviced on the filled line, even during production. All other components of Cobrix 5 are maintenance-free. The power consumption of Cobrix 5 is only 100 Watt and therefore comparable with that of a light bulb.

For completely traceable line performance and product quality, Cobrix 5 in combination with the Davis 5 software automatically stores all quality-related data, including Cpk and Cp values. Online results are completely comparable with reference results from the laboratory as Cobrix 5 uses the oscillating U-tube principle to measure the density and the volume expansion method to determine CO2 content. These are the same principles applied in Anton Paar’s laboratory beverage analyzers, such as the DMA density meters, CarboQC CO2 analyzer and Packaged Beverage Analyzers PBA-S, PBA-SI and PBA-B.
