Conwed Acquires Polynet Inc., Expands Global Netting Solutions Within Food Packaging Industry

Minneapolis - Conwed, a provider of high-performance netting, announced the acquisition of Polynet Inc. earlier this week. Headquartered in Palmer, Massachusetts, Polynet manufactures extruded plastic netting for packaging of produce, meat, poultry, toys and specialty items.

"The Polynet acquisition allows us to expand our netting capabilities in the food product packaging market," says Mark Lewry, CEO and President of Conwed. "By integrating Polynet, we will extend our comprehensive offering of netting products." Conwed plans to integrate Polynet manufacturing with another recently acquired company, NSW, a manufacturer of plastic netting products for packaging and filtration located in Roanoke, Virginia.

John W. Scobo, President of Polynet, will join the Conwed management team. Polynet will be the 5th acquisition Conwed has completed in the plastics industry within the past 3 years.
