Conference In Chennai Examines India's Processed Food Industry

DirectRooms.com reports that leading academics and industry professionals in food science and food technology will be convening in Chennai as part of a major conference delving into India's processed food industry.

Being held for two days from 11th to 12th February 2011, Processed Food – A Trend Beyond Boundaries will look at new scientific techniques being used in the processing of food worldwide and how this compares to the India market.

A number of topics and research are going to be discussed at the event including advances in genetically modified food and how modification can be introduced to best effect to add nutrients such as vitamins. Discussions will also analyse fortified foods and functional foods as well as trends in new designer food products.

The conference will take place at the M.O.P Vaishnav College for Women and aims to act as a learning platform for students looking to enter into a career in the food processing industry. Workshops will run looking at a bakery business to allow students to get an understanding of what is required to set up a venture on their own.

Guest speakers will include experts in the fields of food management, technology and processing which is set to attract many students as well as professionals who in turn will be searching for hotels in Chennai closest to the college.
