Whallon Machinery, Inc. palletizer/depalletizer moves cans from conveyor to pallet or from pallet to conveyor automatically, so operators are free to oversee more stations or complete additional tasks. As a result, greater operating efficiency and better profits occur. The can palletizer/depalletizer features extra heavy-duty components and controls to assure years of efficient, trouble-free service. Flexible enough to fit virtually any system layout, the palletizer/depalletizer features floor-level design that facilitates visual product inspection and makes pallets easily accessible to your forklifts. The units offer both fully automatic and semi-automatic operation and are available in systems that include divider sheet placement and automatic accumulation.

The palletizer/depalletizer uses a magnetic head to lift layers of cans (201-701 dia.) to or from any size pallet. Standard models move 2½ layers per minute, and special units capable of operating at 3½-4 layers per minute are available. A pressure sensing system protects the product from excessive force, and optional vacuum heads designed to lift glass jars or bulky containers are also available. The palletizer/depalletizer sets the pace of the operation. A variety of layouts, which allow one person at floor level to operate two units, monitor the flow of containers, and perform additional container inspection are available.

The palletizer/depalletizer's magnetic head lifts a layer of ordered cans from an accumulation table, swings 90° (or 180°), lowers, and places the layer onto a receiving pallet. Each successive tier is similarly transferred until the pallet is stacked to the specifications you've programmed into the machine. In the depalletize mode, the unit's magnetic head lifts the top layer of cans from a pallet, raises and pivots, and deposits the layer on a take-away conveyor. A scanning sensor indicates that the set-down area is clear and the palletizer/depalletizer proceeds with the next layer of cans.
