Campbell Soup Completes Stockpot Soup Purchase
Campbell Soup Company has completed the purchase of the assets of privately-held Fortun Foods, makers of Stockpot soup, the market leader in the premium refrigerated soup segment. In June, Campbell announced it had reached agreement to acquire the Redmond, WA, company. The acquisition builds upon last year's purchase of France's Liebig wet soup, and the 1996 acquisition of Germany's Erasco wet soup.
``We are delighted that Stockpot is now a part of the Campbell family of brands,'' said Dale Morrison, Campbell's president and CEO. ``It's a great addition that expands our U.S. foodservice business, provides another launching pad for innovative new products and contributes a distinctive platform for international soup growth.''
